Hi! Let's learn some English this summer!

Hello!

This is the first time I've written a blog or created a website... I know, I know... you can tell! I´ll try my best to update it when I´m free and help out with some notes here and there on vocabulary, Use of English, exercises, etc.

Many students want to pass an official Cambridge Certificate to add to their CVs, but they're usually overwhelmed with all the things they have to study. However, we have to be realistic and think that improving our level isn't something that happens overnight or just by going on holidays for a month. Learning a language is something constant that takes time and needs our attention. I don't have a magical pill you can take and get your certificate from one day to another, but I'll be updating this blog as much as I can with some notes you can include in your personal study sessions.

If you´re a teacher, you're welcome to my blog! I also have an Instagram and a pinterest account where I upload useful ESL / EFL notes. It's awesome to be able to connect with other teachers so please drop a line!

OK! where do we start? I honestly have no idea ^^ so after thinking for some time, I've decided to start with some Use of English. You'll find this pretty useful if you´re studying for a B2 exam. If you´re learning English, this will help you out when studying on your own. Yes!! you have to study!

How about some series on Modal verbs? yes! let´s do that!

Modal verbs.key word transformation sentences

When you're working with this kind of exercise, remember that you're creating a new sentence that is similar in meaning to the original one, the one they're giving you.

You can't actually write what you want, there are a series of similar structures that you should use. Why is this useful? What? yes, of course it's useful, c'mon! keep on reading!

it´ll help you think of structures and when to use them depending on the context. This exercise is great to get rid of that annoying habit we have, yup... translating every single thing, word per word... yeah... we teachers can actually hear your brains working when this happens, let's try to change it little by little. Please remember this isn't something that will happen overnight, but you can see fast results if you include these kinds of exercises in your personal study.
